About Chacco-Blue
Chacco-Blue is a brown Mecklenburg / OS stallion, foaled in 1998 and standing 172 cm (16.3hh). He is by Chambertin — a son of Cambridge, tracing on his sire line to Caletto I — out of the Contender mare Contara, placing him on one of the sport's most influential jumping families.
Ranked #3 in the world on the 2025 WBFSH jumping sire list, Chacco-Blue is one of the defining modern jumping sires of his generation. His record as a producer is exceptional: 244 of his offspring have competed at 1.60m, led by Explosion W, Chaqui Z, Blue Movie, Chacna. He is increasingly valued as a damsire, too.
His stamp is built on scope and power (both rated 5/5 in our profile), carried on enough blood and rideability to stay trainable. A scope-and-power stamp with enough blood; generally useful where the mare needs top-level range without losing trainability. Breeders reach for Chacco to add scope, rideability, temperament in the foal.
Chacco-Blue died in June 2012 at Hengststation Schockemöhle, Germany, aged just 14, of Lyme disease (borreliosis). He died in his prime — yet his influence has only grown since. Through frozen semen and the continued success of his offspring, Chacco-Blue remains one of the world's most important showjumping sires more than a decade on, a lasting testament to the strength of his stamp.
